About the Blonde

Though she be but little, she is fierce.

-A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Wm. Shakespeare

My brother and sister-in-law gave me a bookmark with that quote engraved upon it a few years ago, and I must admit, it sums me up quite nicely. I started writing this when I realized just exactly how many people I was irritating on Facebook, and I took a good look around.

“How is it,” I thought, “that I can have virtually the same background as all my friends, grow up in the same place, attend the same schools, go to the same churches, graduate the same state colleges, support the same sports teams, watch the same television shows, like the same music, and yet have such different … radically different … political ideas?”

I live up in that corner of the country that is solidly blue. There is no red state within sight to balance us out. What was once “the cradle of liberty” and the home of the likes of Franklin, Adams, Revere, and Hancock is now the seat of the Kennedys, the Bulgers, Kerry and Granny Warren.

It’s not just the politics. I love to write and have a wide variety of very eclectic tastes. So stop in once in a while and hang on. You never know just what you may find here.
